Job Description:

SummaryClinical Informaticists use their knowledge of patient care combined with their understanding of informatics concepts, methods, and tools to assess information and knowledge needs of health care professionals and patients; characterize, evaluate, and refine clinical processes; develop, implement, and refine clinical decision support systems; and lead or participate in the procurement, customization, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems.Clinical Informaticists participate in activities in the areas of clinical informatics, clinical bioinformatics, and translational informatics through activities including; clinical terminology and knowledge representation, clinical decision support; knowledge management; HIT Standards; Informatics Architecture, Informatics education and research and Informatics policy and practice development. This is a planned position for the Department of VA.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in area of specialty or in a related field in business or health.At least 5 years of experience in health related field.Preferred 5 years working in the Military Healthcare environmentDepartment of VA experience highly preferred
