Job Description:
A postdoctoral position is available in the recently established Brain Metastasis Group at CNIO (www.valientelab.com). The laboratory is part of the Molecular Oncology Program and located in Madrid.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who wants to develop a cutting-edge project in this emerging field of cancer research with very important clinical implications. The position will be created upon successful funding by the open call Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, Individual Fellowships (Deadline September 10th, 2015). The laboratory will offer full support during the application, which will be tailored on the following topics:

-Novel mediators of brain metastasis

-Brain metastasis associated microenvironment

-Development of new brain metastasis models.

This competitive call requires from experienced researchers with an outstanding track record who has the ambition to pursue a scientific career returning back to Europe. Our laboratory develops projects combining Neuroscience and Cancer Biology to study fundamental aspects of metastatic tumors in the brain using a large variety of mouse models and human samples. Only candidates with probed experience in these scientific fields are expected to apply. Expertise in bioinformatics, functional genetic screens, cell culture (cancer cells and brain primary cells), mouse models, in vivo/ ex vivo brain manipulations, metastasis assays will be required for the project and thus positively evaluated. Selected candidates will be offered the possibility to continue with the postdoctoral position when the grant is completed (2 years).

CNIO is one of the top institutions for cancer research in Europe, with access to a broad variety of core facilities and an excellent scientific environment.
