Job Description:
We are seeking a Computational Associate II to join the Diabetes Knowledge Portal development team, as part of both the Medical and Population Genetics and the Metabolism Program at the Broad Institute. The team is building a Knowledge Portal, developing software and methods, performing data intake and analysis for diabetes and other related metabolic diseases.
Requirements:
•B.S. degree in Computational Sciences, Life Sciences, or Physical Sciences with 3+ years of related experience or M.S. degree in a related field with 1+ year of related experience.
Works on tasks of moderate scope and complexity under general supervision.
•Writes algorithms and designs computational, mathematical, and statistical methods
•Develops tools, bioinformatics pipelines, and methods for data analysis and interpretation
•Correlates data and biological information to interpret data content and structure
•Creates and tests data-analysis and statistical models
•Coordinates data-production and -analysis pipelines for various projects
•Assesses data quality and troubleshoots data-analysis issues
•Performs data preparation and submission to public repositories
•Prepares data analysis results for presentation in meetings, progress reports and journal publications
