Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatics scientist to take a key role in next generation sequencing data analysis to support our single cell genomics platform. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for the development and application of statistical modeling and bioinformatics methods. Responsibilities: • Develop and implement, in collaboration with research scientists, statistical analysis and quality control of NGS data. • Apply and create statistical and computational tools for analysis of genomic data sets. • Design and apply bioinformatics algorithms, including unsupervised and supervised clustering, multivariate regression analyses, multidimensionality scaling and dimensionality reduction, etc. • Collaborate with research scientists, marketing, and customers to plan software requirements. Experience: • PhD or Masters in Bioinformatics, Computational biology, Genomics, or a related field. Industry experience preferred. • Extensive experience with analysis of large sequencing datasets in R, proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Perl, R, …), proficiency in Linux environment, experience with source control practices and tools (Perforce, Git, etc.). • Knowledge of NGS tools and format (BWA, genotype callers, BAM, BED files, …).
