Job Description:
For the Data Science team (division Early Life Nutrition), we are looking for a Computational Biologist. The Computational biologist is a pivotal role and, along with the other team members, is dedicated to study the complex interaction between nutrition and its impact during the first 1000 days. You will report to the Sr Computational Biologist and you will be a team member within a multidisciplinary team(s) located both in Singapore and The Netherlands.

The Computational Biologist has strong analytical skills, is able to deliver high quality results in the agreed timelines. In addition, good communication skills are required in order to, along with the team of experts, translate the results into meaningful insights driving our innovation portfolio

OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE

The Computational biologist's main responsibilities are:

  • Perform computational biology analysis of clinical and preclinical study ~omics data;
  • Contribute to assessment and implementation of computational biology methods, pipelines and data visualizations
  • Provide computational biology expertise and advice, in order to assist project teams in evaluation of the effects of various nutritional concepts in the first 1000 days of life regarding ~omics data;
  • Participate actively in relevant Early Life Nutrition R&I networks, ensuring alignment with other teams and with external partners
TARGETED PROFILE:

You will possess the passion and readiness to commit to make health differences, helping bringing scientific evidence to products and services. As a minimum, you hold an MsC in Computational Biology/Bioinformatics and should be experienced in relevant scripting languages, such as in Python, R, and PHP. In addition, you should be experienced in translational research (biology, clinical trials) and handling large structured (data warehousing) and unstructured data.

  • Excellent communication skills and responsiveness to interact with a multidisciplinary cross-divisional project team and with any other parties involved, such as local scientists, clinicians, Key Opinion Leaders and regulatory departments
