A leading Biotech are looking for computational biologists to join their team in Cambridge. This is a leader in the Biotech Capital with an excellent reputation, now looking to add to their team. You will be working within a well established Computational Biology Team, gaining training, upskilling and gaining exposure to projects at the forefront of the sector. If you have excellent computational skills and a desire to develop this could be the role for you. As a computational biologist, your responsibilities will include:
- Working in a team focusing on Oncology to develop diagnostic products.
- Algorithm development for identification of RNA and DNA alterations.
- Ingest and Analyze large volumes of data to improve methods.
- Collaborate with the team of: Computational Biologists, Software Engineers and Wet Lab Scientists.
- A PhD in Bioinformatics or related field, alternatively a MS with a minimum of 2 years experience.
- An excellent background in Python, with extensive coding skills.
- Have previously worked on: R, Java, C++, Perl or other programming languages
- Prior commercial experience with NGS, Oncology and Diagnostics
- Proven experience building Algorithms from scratch and enhancing existing analysis models.
- SQL and AWS experience will be beneficial
