As a computational biologist/ discovery toxicologist working on the toxicology team, you will develop and apply bioinformatics tools to analyze complex animal and human datasets across several antisense platforms. These analyses will inform broad platform behavior across chemical classes and interspecies relationships. The effort will also develop hypotheses on the mechanism of toxicities through the analysis and interrogation of platform/compound-centric, toxicology data. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively on discovery and computational projects across multiple disciplinary areas to develop strategies to improve the activity and tolerability of antisense oligonucleotides. So, join us and experience our unique culture while developing and expanding your career.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with the bioinformatics and genomics team to design, develop and apply computational biology methods to assist in the integration, analysis and visualization of large, complex toxicological datasets
  • Leverage multi ‘omic’ datasets including genomic variation, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic to further our understanding of the general mechanism of oligonucleotide toxicity and drive the improvement of early risk assessment strategies through the identification of toxicological pathways that are applicable across various therapeutic areas
  • Provide leadership to leverage the new SEND Warehouse Animal Pharmacology and Tolerability Database to streamline companywide analysis of in-life data
  • Performs data collection and curation
  • Develop and automate DB Preclinical and Clinical queries
  • Work as part of a team of safety assessment scientists and more broadly pathology, and early drug discovery teams to assist in the implementation discovery toxicology strategy
