Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Computational Biologist/Bioinformatics Scientist to develop computational methods for analysis of high-throughput data from Functional Genomics screens using shRNA and CRISPR technologies supporting discovery of novel oncology targets. The scientist will work closely with a functional genomics lab team to design and evaluate novel screening approaches. The scientist will help design and evaluate shRNA and CRISPR guide libraries, develop methods for analyzing the FG screens data, implement data sharing and visualization tools to provide timely and easy access to screening results to scientist in Oncology Research. The scientist will be responsible for identifying and developing computational methods for integrating analysis of proprietary and public FG screens data together with other available omics data for discovery of novel Oncology targets. The scientist will analyze and interpret NGS data (WES, RNAseq, chipSeq) from target validation studies, investigations of MOA and use computational approaches to identify patients' populations for novel targets.

Responsibilities

* Work within an interdisciplinary team of molecular biologists, computational biologists on developing methods for analysis and interpretation of FG screen data generated with NGS technologies.

* Lead implementation and development of new methods and algorithms to summarize results of FG genomics data from internal and external screens.

* Develop and implement analytical tools capable of troubleshooting and accelerating the development of FG screens.

* Process, analyze and interpret high volumes of data from FG screens. Develop automated methods and software to support large-scale bioinformatics analysis.

* Develop data sharing and results visualization tools for FG screens data.

* Provide timely analysis and interpretation of the FG screens data.

* Provide computational analysis of high-throughput OMICS data from target validation and MOA studies.

* Analyze public and proprietary tumor omics data to identify patients' populations for novel therapies.

* Monitor, evaluate and implement computational methods for novel target discovery.

* Present scientific and technical data to both internal and external scientific colleagues in a clear and cohesive manner.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

* Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or related fields with 2+ years of post-doctoral experience.

* Fluency in programming and scripting languages is required (R, Perl/Python, Java, PHP).

* Experience in high performance computing in a linux environment is required.

* Experience in algorithm development for analysis of massively parallel sequencing data from CRISPR or shRNA screens is highly desirable.

* Experience developing algorithms for analysis of biological high-throughput data.

* Experience in integrative omics analysis, next generation sequencing, data mining, pathway analysis, statistics is desirable.

* Experience in cancer research, including a working understanding of computation approaches for cancer genome analysis is desirable.

* Strong scientific understanding of molecular biology and genomics.

* Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced, dynamic and results-oriented environment.

* Ability to present data to a multidisciplinary audience in a clear and cohesive manner.

* Excellent teamwork, time management and organizational skills.
