The intern in this role will work on the follow tasks: 1.analyze large amounts of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and conservation data. 2. develop computational methods using those genomics data for genome interpretation. 3. evaluate performance of internal and external methods. 4. write good documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must be enrolled in a Masters or PhD program with a minimum 3.2 GPA (will be verified). Preferred course of study: Computer science, mathematics, statistical genetics, bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or similar Solid background in statistics and genetics. Fluency with at least one of software language tools including R, python, perl, or Java. Familiar with Linux and parallel computing. Familiar with basic bioinformatics tools and databases. Knowledge of deep learning is a plus. Must have strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
This role is located in Santa Clara, CA. Candidates can apply to intern roles through November 4th, at which time they will be removed from posting. Top candidates will move to our video interviewing platform as first step, in mid-November. Those selected for next steps will be contacted in late November for a technical phone interview; the phone interview will be scheduled for late November through early December . As a last step, final intern candidates are required to attend an assessment center event at our San Diego or Bay Area offices. The evening events will be held January 26 th and February 2 nd for San Diego and January 23 rd for San Francisco. Candidates for San Diego roles will attend the event in San Diego and will be notified of their assigned assessment date by December 16 th . Candidates for Bay Area roles will attend the event in San Francisco on January 23 rd . Travel accommodations will be provided for those candidates who do not reside in the city where their assessment event is being held.

The iAspire program only supports F-1 visa status; no other visa types are eligible. F-1 students must have at least 3 months of CPT or OPT eligibility to participate.
