Job Description:
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking an individual to fill a position as a Computational Science Analyst II.
The responsibilities associated with this position include working under the supervision of a faculty member, postdoc, graduate student or Scientific Informatics Manager to solve biological problems that require considerable independent thinking. Such problems include, but are not limited to, data mining, integration of diverse data sets, development of novel algorithms to analyze large data sets, development of mathematical models, and development of novel scientific visualization tools. This position has all the requirements of the Scientific Informatics Developer, plus a working understanding of the relevant biological systems.
Position Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics, computer science, physics, mathematics, biology or related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
The analyst is expected to be self-motivated and to be able to work independently without supervision for periods of days.
