Job Description:
This research scientist position will conduct research in the area of high-performance computing systems, including, research in high-performance software systems such as compilers and runtime support, software development for application areas such as bioinformatics, and interface between the LSU application groups and CCT.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform research in high-performance software systems area working closely with HPC, computational and data science applications from all LSU system campuses, and industry in Louisiana. Develop an in-depth understanding of advanced high-performance computational algorithms for a wide range of highly complex applications. Develop a research program in software environments for HPC including domain-specific approaches. Lead or mentor a team of HPC/data analytics programming professionals. (50%)
  • Prepare power point presentations on the technical results, with animations of simulations,for sponsors and national and international conferences; write technical reports of research findings; Offer training programs to junior researchers as well as visitors from industry working at LSU; assist in preparing research proposals, progress reports, and final reports. (25%)
  • Manage and mentor research team consisting of graduate and undergraduate students (15%)
  • Other duties assigned by CCT Director (10%)
Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science and experience in working with High performance computing environment and Linux operating system.
