Location: Food Safety Department, Teagasc Food Research Centre, Ashtown, Dublin 15.
Grade/Salary: Technologist, with a starting salary of €31,729 per annum. The current salary scale is €31,729 to €62,700.
Starting pay will be at the minimum of the scale per Government Circular E100/8/82. Exceptional circumstances may apply for candidates with current or previous service in the public sector (including Teagasc). Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy.
Post Type: Temporary Externally Funded Non Grant-in-Aid contract post, the indicative duration of which is 4 months, subject to contract.
Basic Function: The successful candidate will work on the residues testing programme in the Food Safety Department based at Teagasc, Ashtown, Dublin 15. The scientist will carry out a range of activities on the programme including laboratory and data analysis working within an ISO17025 accredited environment.
Applicants should have a degree in chemistry. Experience in the areas of high performance liquid chromatography and chromatographic software are essential. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of the areas of analytical chemistry and statistical analysis of data. Experience in the areas of LC-MS/MS, bioanalytical chemistry, method validation and ISO17025 would be a distinct advantage

Candidates must have a Level 8 degree in Chemistry or a related discipline.Desirable Qualifications
