We are currently seeking a Data Analyst. This position is located in Frederick, MD. The Data Analyst will work with the research facility’s data management team and assist with overseeing systems and processes for the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Integrated Research Facility (IRF) located at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland. The ideal candidate will be quantitatively-focused, capable of working independently or a part of a team, be capable of design and execution of small data oriented projects, and interested in scientific research and specifically viral pathogens. Job Duties include: -Compile, validate, cleanse, and analyze complex program data -Create memos and reports that summarize program data -Document business and technical requirements of the data projects -Assist in all aspects of data extraction, analysis and reporting -Maintaining a growing library of dashboards, reports, and interactive data visualizations using a variety of visualization tools and techniques -Create and maintain project plans, status reports, and schedules

Computer Skills:
-Expertise with Microsoft Project and/or other Project Management/Scheduling Software -Expertise with use of Sharepoint Software. -Basic understanding of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) -Basic understanding of Tableau software -Basic understanding of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION: -US citizenship or permanent resident. -Bachelor's Degree in Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Intel Analysis, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline. -At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in scientific data-driven research and analysis with proven expertise in data visualization techniques -Prior experience using MS Excel to import/export data to and from relational databases -Expert proficiency in using MS Excel to format large sets of data and analyses for easy consumption -Intermediate skills with SQL, HTML, CSS and Javascript/Javascript libraries -Demonstrated interpersonal skills, oral and written communication, and organizational skills, ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision. -Demonstrated understanding of risk management fundamentals and terminology. -Individual must be able to meet the requirements for Public Trust Level 5b. THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION: -Knowledge or experience working in BSL3 and BSL4 animal research laboratories, and/or planning animal research studies in BSL3 or BLS4 laboratories. -Presentation of quantitative data for a scientific audience. -Experience creating and curating scientific data dictionaries. -Customer-focused attitude and ability to work proactively and efficiently with an appropriate sense of urgency. -Professional, client-ready written and oral communication skills; essential that all deliverables are thorough and accurate.Skills :
