This role is responsible for analyzing and driving technical aspects of life sciences/bioinformatics/biomedical informatics related projects. The candidate would be responsible for developing algorithms with domain experts on the Genomics and Imaging area to enhance current cutting edge open source applications. This would include machine learning (ML) libraries and currently available Discovery Peak/Trusted Analytics Platform tools from Intel.
Additional Info - Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, judgement and formal software process.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
MS EE/CS or equivalent with 3 years of proven Software development and debug experience. 4 or more years of experience (or the equivalent) in algorithm optimization, data structures, data, vector and task parallelization techniques. 2 or more years' experience (or the equivalent) of architecting and developing life sciences/bioinformatics solutions for High Performance Computing and/or Shared Memory systems. (nice to have) Strong expertise in programming in C/C++, Java, Python and scripting languages such as Perl. Strong data analytics expertise along with statistical and algorithm development 4 or more years of experience (or the equivalent)with Linux/Unix, scripting languages and multithreaded programming.
