Synthego is looking for a Data Engineer to join our core software team to help us extract insights from our data sources by building robust scalable infrastructure to enable easy access. Inside our ever-evolving laboratory, we are developing and bringing in new instruments, innovating new products, and pushing our existing capabilities to the limit. Clear, easy access to our data is critical to our ability to make quick, accurate decisions and to execute Synthego’s philosophy of rapid prototyping and innovation. What You’ll Do:

Any given order moves through dozens of instruments, and our factory can manage throughput in the thousands. All of these machines and samples generate a lot of data that we can learn from. - Build scalable infrastructure for our ever growing and evolving data streams
- Implement self-serve data visualization and access tools to empower easy data-driven decision making by those outside the data team
- Write analysis pipelines for sample data from our automated lab (Mass Spec, NGS, Image Analysis)
- Gather requirements, create specifications, and document appropriately for broader use of the tools you’re creating
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure easy, rapid, and accurate data access by the entire company
- BS + 3 years in computer science
- Fluent in Python and SQL
- 3yrs+ of creating tools for others
- Experience with Pandas, Numpy, and Scipy
- Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment
- Experience with AWS Redshift
- Experience data visualization tools (Looker, Domo, QuickSight, or similar)
- Experience with Data Science
- Understanding of Biology and/or Chemistry
- Experience with data from instrumentation design / development
- Previous experience in the Biotech domain
- Experience with manufacturing data
