Job Description:
The Albert Einstein College Of Medicine (New York) Center for Health Data Innovations (CHDI) is seeking a post-doctoral candidate to collaborate with faculty doing research and development work for clinical care, outcomes improvement, patient satisfaction, and population health.

We are seeking someone with a doctoral level degree and advanced training and/or experience in a discipline related to advanced analytics and data science. Ideally, the candidate will have extensive experience working with digital health or health care data.

To be eligible for this post doc position the candidate should have:

Doctoral training in one of the following disciplines:

  • Computer Sciences
  • Mathematics
  • Statistics/Biostatistics or another highly relevant analytic field (e.g., econometrics, systems science)
Past/ Current Area of Methods/Focus (one or more):
  • Data mining, Advanced Analytics
  • Applied machine learning methods (ensemble learners, deep learning, reinforcement learning, etc )
  • Predictive/Prescriptive modeling
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced statistical programming (R, Python)
  • Heands on experience working with big-data analytic solutions (SPARK, GraphX, etc)
  • Hands on experience working with software development and scripting languages (Java, Python, Ruby, etc)
  • Familiarity with the Semantic Web (RDF/OWL/SPARQL) is a huge plus.
  • Please note, a focus on the biomedical/ bioinformatics/ genomics context alone is not directly in scope with this position.
This Post-Doc position represents a unique opportunity to gain mentored experience working within the leading accountable care organization nationwide (Montefiore Medical Center), and a highly regarded medical schools in New York City. The candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with health informatics, computer science, data science, methodologies, population health, and medical faculty undertaking a wide array of projects focusing on the application of electronic health records, electronic health care administrative records, and consumer e-health, m-health data applied to the measurement and improvement of outcomes of care, patient satisfaction, health care systems, life span research, and population health management.

It is expected that this position will offer the candidate many opportunities for career development including considerable potential to participate in peer reviewed publications, independent research, teaching and curriculum development, intellectual property, and entrepreneurship. Since advanced knowledge and fluency in English is a requirement, the applicant should demonstrate superb English communications skills, and must have one or more degrees from an English speaking university or several years of work experience in an English speaking setting.

CHDI is based at the Albert Einstein College Of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center (New York) and collaborates closely with all departments at the School of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, and Montefiore Information Technology. CHDI also collaborates closely with several leading technology companies, other integrated care delivery systems, and local, state, and federal health agencies.

CHDI follows all protocols and regulation around compensation for Post-Docs as required by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and as appropriate for the applicants experience. Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center have a vibrant academic community of graduate students and post-docs from across the US and around the globe.

The position is for two years, with potential of extension or promotion to a faculty position at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
