Job Description:
Develops financial and clinical data analytics and analysis based on claims (administrative) data and electronic medical records (EMR) with a focus on population health outcomes. Supports both business and health outcome related analysis. Assesses data analytics needs and recommends, executes, analyzes, and prepares reports to respond to those needs. Works closely with both business and clinical team(s) to determine the most appropriate and effective analytics approaches. Utilizes a variety of systems and software tools as needed to compile and prepare reports, graphs and charts of data analyzed. Develops novel and innovative approaches to measuring population health impacts and associated investments. Research and introduces additional data sources and analysis techniques as needed. Remains current with modern data analysis tools and methods. Participates in both regular/on-going reporting and analysis as well as one-time/ad hoc analysis to respond to or analyze a specific business need, issue or opportunity. Works effectively both independently and as a member of a team. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities: This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Education: Master's Degree in health/healthcare informatics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or health economics Minimum Experience: One year data analytics, statistics, visualization tools Other Required Experience: -Experience with health/healthcare data/data analytics - Required -Experience with modern data analysis/analytics tools such as statistical packages (SAS, SPSS, R), visualization tools (Tableau, qlik, Matlab) and/or other data analysis tools - Required -Experience and knowledge of health care risk stratification methodologies and experience with risk stratification tools such as Milliman's MARA and MedInsight, LexisNexis MEDai or other health care risk stratification tools and methodologies - Preferred -Experience with health care grouper methodologies such as CMS' Heirarchical Condition Categories (HCC), Optum's Episode Treatment Grouper (ETG), and/or Health Cost Guidelines (HCG). Experience with episode payment models (bundles) - Preferred
