Job Description:
At Monsanto we are seeking a creative, highly motivated Data Scientist to join a team of world-class experts in genomics, microbiology and data science and participate in challenging research projects with real-world impact, feeding a growing planet while conserving our natural resources . In this role you will leverage your skills to collaborate on cutting edge research projects involving machine learning, graph analysis, data visualization and bioinformatics API development. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands on experience working with next generation sequencing, Omic, microbiology and crop phenotype data in high-performance computing and cloud environments. Required Skills: -Display a passion for solving analytical problems involving big biological data, interactive multivariate data visualization and predictive modeling. -PhD or Masters + 3 yrs experience in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Genetics, or other quantitative disciplines. -3+ years experience in applied machine learning (Deep Learning, Ensembles, SVM, etc) and programming in R, MATLAB or Python. -Exceptional leadership, verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills and problem solving skills will be required to negotiate scope/resources, manage, and project status, and synchronize activities with team members, stakeholders, and management. -Ability to work in a matrix environment, leading & influencing people at varying levels of responsibility. -Proven ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in clear, precise and actionable manner. -A consistent record of delivering impactful results, such as publications in leading scientific journals or contribution to open source software projects. -Experience in method development and the ability to define and implement desired technical strategies. Desired Skills: -Experience with R Shiny UI development. -Familiarity with RESTful API concepts. -Understanding of big data ecosystems including: Hbase, MongoDB, MapReduce, graph databases , Spark and virtual infrastructures such as AWS, Microsoft and Google cloud is highly desirable. -Maintainer of or contributor to at least one open source project, such as an R package (on CRAN, Bioconductor, or Github) or Python library.

Requeriments :
- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Bioinformatics
- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Computer Science
- Master’s Degree in Genetics
