About The Role: Reporting to the Director of Disease Management, the Data Scientist will focus on developing tailored, data-driven clinical, operational and financial pathway insights to help increase operational efficiency, and reduce the variation in care delivery. This individual will identify, obtain and analyze treatment, clinical outcomes and reimbursement information in support of clinical and reimbursement strategies for BSC solutions specific to population health or disease management. Your Responsibilities Include:
- Identify, pull, and analyze data related to episodes of care, clinical outcomes and reimbursement information.
- Compile data for analysis, reporting, governance and/or communications to key stakeholders to support business processes.
- Build interactive scorecards and templates
- Carry out background research on clinical and cost data (literature, databases etc) to populate models for a range of disease areas appropriately.
- Build and tell a story using data and excellent communication skills
- Seek to understand business requirements for data/information and establish processes/reporting to support
- Lead and/or actively participate in both system and process improvements
- Support adhoc requests and special projects as required
- May perform statistical analysis
Basic Qualifications:
What we’re looking for:- M.S. or Ph.D. Degree in relevant discipline: Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research/Optimization, Computer Science, Data Science/visualization, or Health Sciences (e.g. Bioinformatics).
- Working knowledge of U.S. healthcare system including expertise in health care financing, reimbursement policies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health care data subject matter with hands-on experience with defining, validating and implementing healthcare key performance indicators (KPIs) or measures.
- Proficient in the use of data visualization software such as Tableau or QlickView
- Experience in the use of statistical software programs such as SAS or R
- Advanced Excel and Powerpoint user
- Strong mathematical background with strong knowledge in at least one of the following fields: data analytics, statistics, data mining, machine learning, econometrics, natural language processing and information retrieval.
- Working knowledge of healthcare coding systems (ICD9/10, CPT, DRG, etc.)
- Experience in working with claims data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Bioinformatics
