Job Description:
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our data team and help us build tools to make sense of big data in oncology. Are you familiar with AI and big data. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

Work as part of a small team to operate multiple high-throughput pipelines to enable precision medicine. Take ownership of specific projects and coordinate data processing in collaboration with project managers, research scientists and clinicians. Create ad hoc scripts and tools as needed for troubleshooting, back-filling, and other one-time activities.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:

• Work with clinical lead and data managers to provide primary support for production pipelines; troubleshooting may include issues in software, file systems, and networking.
• Work with IT when appropriate to scope and quantify problems. Devise, validate, and deploy solutions.
• Work with users to service requests and to provide education and resolution of issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
• Familiarity with at least one scripting language
• Experience with relational databases and NoSQL instances
• Strong communication skills
• Must be able to effectively work on multiple tasks, prioritise, and communicate realistic expectations to users

Nice To Have:

• Knowledge of ElasticSearch, Jupyter notebooks or Apache Spark would definitely make a difference
• Familiarity with genomic data and bioinformatics tools
