Job Description:
Medical Devices, a division of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for an IT Analyst Data Sciences, R&D Technology & Advanced Analytics. This position is located in Somerville, NJ.

The Data Sciences department is looking for an outstanding Analyst who is interested in designing, developing, and fielding data mining solutions that have direct impact to Patients, Caregivers and Johnson & Johnson. Our department spans across the entire value chain at Janssen Pharmaceuticals from discovery to after launch. This will enable the analyst to work with various business units to help identify viable data mining opportunities and then conceive, develop and implement end to end data analytical solutions. There are many ways to explore and analyze data, and this drives the excitement and passion of data scientists at J&J as many business units are eager to leverage the data to create healthcare or business value. The Analyst will be someone who constantly learns and stays on the cutting edge of data mining research by supporting novel research to influence decisions at various levels in the organization and assists in developing novel and innovative healthcare offerings. The role will utilize existing data mining algorithms and creativity to invent and customize when necessary. The Analyst, Data Sciences will be part of a dynamic, accomplished informatics team that will support multiple areas in the Medical Devices franchises. He/She will contribute to the invention and implementation of creative solutions that go beyond common practices and applications but innovate and potentially disrupt the healthcare sector. He/She will participate in project teams and own responsibility for the execution of advanced data analysis tasks.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the field of in Computer Sciences, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Informatics, Medical Informatics, Computational Biology or a related discipline is required.
  • Basic understanding of research and development or commercial in the healthcare sector is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of data mining algorithms including machine learning techniques such as decision trees, deep learning and neural networks, probability networks, association rules, clustering, regression is required.
  • Experience in the handling and analysis of either real world evidence, streaming or sensor/wearables data is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL or scripting is preferred.
  • Proficient with one or more programming language such as Java, Perl, Python, R with data analysis packages or modules is required.
  • Experience with advanced technologies such as robotics, IoT is preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, verbal, and written skills are required
  • Experience with Natural language processing or text analytics methods is preferred
