Job Description:
The R&D group at Centrillion is a multidisciplinary team of biologists, engineers, chemists, and computational biologists developing new genomics technologies, applications and products that will advance research and healthcare. We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing Product Science Group. The new team member will work with Centrillion scientists to support development efforts, contributing to experimental design and analysis of large data sets.

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing Product Science Group. The new team member will work with Centrillion scientists to support development efforts, contributing to experimental design and analysis of large data sets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Work collaboratively with members of the Product Science team to develop and execute analysis methods.

-Be data driven with strong data analysis skills.

-Develop and implement appropriate statistical controls and analyses.

-Independent management of analysis needs for multiple parallel projects.

-Coordinate with algorithm, pipeline and software development efforts.

-Communicate results with internal stakeholders and R&D management. Integrate observations and feedback and execute follow-up analyses.

-Keep detailed records and summarize work in research reports and team meeting presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

-MS or PhD in Statistics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or similar field.

Requirements:

-Experience in the genomics/biotechnology industry a plus.

-Significant experience working with large data sets in Python, R or MATLAB and familiarity with core statistical concepts.

-Experience with C/C++ is a plus.

-Understanding of nucleotide sequence alignment is desirable.

-Experience with Next Generation Sequencing and microarray analysis tools a plus.

-Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to proactively identify issues and address with solutions-oriented approach.

-Self-starter who is innovative and willing to explore new methodologies.

-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment; capable of managing competing priorities.

-Proven interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; excellent time management skills. Ego mature.
