Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Data Scientist/Computational Biologist to join our dynamic team to work on exciting precision medicine related projects for our federal government and industry clients. This is an exciting opportunity to be an early employee of a growing company led by world-renowned experts in bioinformatics and data science. You will work closely with leadership, staff and consultants to implement personalized medicine solutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Propose, develop and implement data management systems to infer clinical actionability of multi-omics datasetsResponsible for design, development, maintenance, and documentation of computational infrastructure for large-scale omics data management and analysis using high performance computing resources (e.g. Amazon web services)Apply bioinformatics and computational techniques to analyze and model large volumes of disparate data, and identify new patterns and hypothesisApply appropriate data visualization techniques to present dataAssist in writing papers and grant proposals

Position requirements:

Masters or PhD in Data science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Informatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science (or other related field) with experience in Bioinformatics. We encourage graduating students to apply.Proficiency in one or more programming languages suited to high throughput data analysis (e.g. R, C and its derivatives, and/or Java)Familiarity with relational, non-relational, and semantic database management systemsExpertise in advanced computational biology methods such as systems biology and network analysis, machine learning and data mining toolsKnowledge of cancer databases including clinically relevant human variants, clinical trials and pharmacogenomics and drug databasesExcellent oral and written communication and presentation skillsPreferably, broad expertise in bioinformatics, data science and/or computational biology with a strong knowledge of cancer biology and fluency in the molecular technologies (e.g., NGS) used in Oncology
