We have an immediate contract opening for a programmer/developer that will be able to help us create an internal database and software program for drug discovery. The focus will be to extract information from public databases and create a database with a web based application to query and update the database. We deal in large amounts of complicated data (up to 100MM records) so if you are looking to up your big data game then this is the place for you. - Develop web-based tools supporting the analysis of large cheminformatics and bioinformatics data.
- Database (MySQL and PostgreSQL) design, SQL programming and performance tuning experience
- Focus on the coding, development and the maintenance of back-end functionality.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science
- 1 - 3 years experience
- Strong RDBMS knowledge, experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL database design, develop, test and migrations, ability to craft and troubleshoot database queries
- Proficiency in programming (Python or PHP or R, SQL, JavaScript)
- Demonstrable experience in designing client-server/web-based/database-driven applications
- Knowledge and skill in cheminformatics and bioinformatics is a plus.
