Job Description:
Ariadne is currently searching for a Database Specialist to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a permanent, full-time position with Ariadne and it is on-site in Bethesda, Maryland. Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain data processing pipelines. • Evaluate proposed database schema changes, potential impact on the data load processes, propose and implement the necessary modifications. • Assist in creating and maintaining database tables, database relationships, application data, and database links, views, stored procedures, etc. • Provide assistance in analyzing schemas, tables and/or indexes, and taking online/offline rollback segments and table spaces. • Develop and optimize database queries, and assist team members in database related questions and issues. • Assist in maintaining and enhancing the existing and in developing new web-based data driven applications. Position Qualifications: • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math or related technical majors. • 5+ years of experience in design, development, testing and maintenance of SQL databases and database driven software solutions. Position Requirements: • Extensive experience with data management and processing. • Knowledge and experience with RDBMS, OLTP, database design and development. • Experience with Oracle and PL/SQL. • Experience with writing SQL queries, stored procedures, indexes, etc. • Query optimization and troubleshooting experience. Additional Desired Skills: • Knowledge and experience with OLAP, ETL tools, Data Warehousing. • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS). • Knowledge of OOD/OOP. • Experience with .NET and SharePoint.
