Assistant Professor in Mathematics -- #500165 The Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor with research expertise in mathematical bioinformatics beginning August 16, 2016. In addition to an active research program, the candidate will be responsible for teaching 3-4 courses per year at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Required: A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related discipline. Demonstrated potential for superior achievement in research and an ability to collaborate with researchers in the biological sciences. Excellent teaching record as evidenced by both peer and student evaluations. Preferred: Additional years of experience beyond the Ph.D., normally achieved through a postdoctoral position. Research record in the mathematical approaches analysis of bioinformatics data, structural biology, systems biology, or ecological and evolutionary modeling.
