Job Description:
The Digital Biology Center (DBCC) located in Cambridge, MA, provides the only fully-integrated DNA sequencing platform to help clinical laboratories diagnose genetic diseases and many forms of cancer. This is an opportunity to work with an agile team supporting and developing production databases and linux systems administration. We offer a fun and energetic environment. We favor candidates who enjoy working in a collaborative and multi-disciplined team environment incorporating Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Setup, replicate, maintain and backup production databases Postgres and MySQL Ensuring high levels of data quality Support internal users Frontend and backend Interface with external consultants to ensure ERP, Subversion and document systems are operating correctly. Manage/develop future implementation and enhancements for internal user base. Manage data migrations Perform code reviews and fix bugs to ensure best performance in Database Software Maintaining and setting up version control like SVN, Git, etc. Required Skills Postgres, MySQL Linux system administration, required Windows system administration, helpful Scripting and coding with Python, Django, Bash, etc. Experience with Visual Studio and Windows commandline, helpful Required Experience 2+ years of Database and Linux System Administration in a production environment BSCS or related
