Job Description:
The Director of Bioinformatics will be responsible for developing innovative and scalable data solutions to provide end-to-end support of HealthTell’s proprietary Immunosignature technology. The candidate should have experience designing and developing compute infrastructure, with demonstrated software engineering expertise in data storage, analysis pipelines, custom interfaces and high performance and/or cloud computing. This pivotal position will manage a team that collaborates with colleagues across R&D, Manufacturing, Biostatistics and Marketing and Sales functions. The team will apply off-the-shelf and custom solutions to support the commercial launch of HealthTell Immunosignature products, operating in a controlled regulatory environment. The ideal candidate will have a track record of both innovative and pragmatic informatics methods development and delivery. They will be a proven team player with leadership skills and experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBLITIES:
Directs the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the Informatics function and overall computing infrastructure and capability. Ability to work on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation. Guides state-of-the art analysis, integration and management of data to support and enable Immunosignature development and commercialization. Builds and manages HealthTell’s informatics and data analytics pipelines, collaborating closely with the biostatistics to implement novel computational tools and data visualization and reporting methods. Oversees the computational infrastructure and provides tools to manage the flow of samples and information for large-scale studies. Provides the organization with both short- and long-term information systems strategies that will help the organization meet its business objectives by developing an informatics database strategy, including the incorporation of public and proprietary databases from collaborations, strategic alliances and research efforts. Oversees the design, development and implementation of Immunosignature data processing software using an Agile approach that ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Builds and manages a staff of information systems professionals and works in collaboration with cross-functional Immunosignature project teams. Manages and develops personnel. Participates in developing and executing company-wide policies for data storage, access and analysis. Interacts with executive level management on internal and external objectives. Has overall responsibility for planning and implementing budget for the informatics group. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
MS or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 10+ years of related experience with proven track record in leading others. Prior experience in a biotech/pharma environment with extensive current domain knowledge in proteomics, genomics or drug discovery focused informatics is strongly preferred. Proven track record of hiring and development of staff, building successful teams. Demonstrated expertise in Python, including familiarity with scientific packages such as pandas, Scikit, numpy; experience with web app development, including javascript and frameworks such as Flask or Django Proficiency in Linux environment, knowledge of database technologies (Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle), understanding of web services technologies, experience with unit testing and source control practices and tools (git, SVN, etc.) Enthusiasm to both lead and contribute solutions that support our internal customer base Demonstrated technical and people leaderships skills and a history of success working in cross functional teams Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on intellectual rigor Demonstrated excellence as a team player Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers and customers as needed, ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical end-users About HealthTell:
