The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) invites applications and nominations for the Director of the Human and Molecular Genetics Center (HMGC). Established in 1999, the Center enables researchers and clinicians to obtain and analyze genomic sequences to understand disease, improve diagnosis, and provide treatments to patients. This is an exciting opportunity for a distinguished scientist to build upon the Center's success as a leader in the application of genetics and genomics sequencing, bioinformatics, genome editing, and development of genetic models of human disease. The Center Director will help to position the Center for continued success in discoveries that will impact the health and treatments of patients and their families. Reporting to the Dean of the School of Medicine & Executive Vice President, the successful candidate will bring a keen knowledge of business and technology as well as a strong service orientation to inspire innovation and collaboration across clinical and basic science disciplines. HMGC is a multifaceted research and educational powerhouse with a strong human sequencing and diagnostic focus. The HMGC Director will be a top scientific and visionary leader focused on genetics, genomics and personalized medicine who will go to the helm of a highly successful and collaborative center with a strong operational foundation. The Center Director will oversee the interactions and the integration of genomic sequencing and analytical resources within the HMGC and other locations on campus and will help to recruit and to strengthen epigenetics, genomics and bioinformatics. The ideal candidate is an M.D., an M.D./Ph.D. or a Ph.D and a distinguished scholar with a strong record as a competitively funded professor or associate professor.
