Job Description:
We are expanding our team that builds and supports these sites and are looking for an energetic, results-oriented Drupal developer.

You will become a team member at the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research (FNLCR), managed by Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. on behalf of the National Cancer Institute (NCI). It is the only U.S. national laboratory wholly focused on research, technology, and collaboration in the biomedical sciences – working to discover, to innovate, and to improve human health.

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES-THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING APPROVAL

Drupal Developer

  • Custom programming and application development in Drupal.
  • Work as part of a high performing, integrated team to develop custom solutions for customers
  • Unit test, maintain and troubleshoot existing websites
  • Proactively communicate clearly any risks/issues
  • Manage their work load/schedule and meet agreed upon deliverables
  • Will work closely with the project team to drive the success of the program
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology updates and propose how they can benefit our needs

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

This is a dual level requisition. It may be filled at either the level III or IV.

For the Level III:

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Bioinformatics or equivalent from an accredited college or university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education) plus 4 years of experience. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.

For the Level IV:

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Bioinformatics or equivalent from an accredited college or university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education) plus 6 years of experience. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.

All candidates:

  • Experience in software architecture
  • Hands on experience with Drupal 7 & 8
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Drupal, including writing custom modules, and understanding of the Drupal API and key contributed modules
  • Experience integrating open-source and third-party applications into existing systems
  • A solid understanding of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and JQuery
  • Strong experience working from the command line with Git as a deployment engine and using Git source code repositories
  • Strong CLI experience in a LAMP environment
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to communicate technical ideas to non-technical people
  • Understand the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the stages each project goes through
