Job Description:
This is a software testing position in Ion R&D platform. You will be an integral part of a dedicated team of scientists and engineers who are working on a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) system.
Job Responsibilities include:
•develop and execute integration test plans and test cases for Ion Torrent software suites, which comprise of instrumentation and server software.
•apply engineering and scientific competencies to verify and validate software product requirement and specification.
•develop automated verification tools to increase testing coverage
•deploy and manage our software on the internal production clusters
Minimum Qualifications (must have)
•MS. or higher in Computer Science/Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biomedical engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields
•Strong expertise in Linux/Unix environments
•Experience with cluster management is a big plus
•Software development skills with Python, Perl, Bash, Java with 5+ year experience
•Good understanding of best practice of software testing and automated software testing
•Ability to work independently and with teams.
•Good communication skills with scientists and engineers, and software developers
•Detail oriented and self-driven.
Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)
•previous experience in multi-disciplinary environment
•good understanding of biology and biochemistry of the sequencing technologies
•experience with software development tools such as IDE, source revision control system (git, subversion, ...) , and issue tracking software (Jira ...)
