The Department of Health Sciences Research is seeking applications for a Faculty Position in Biomedical Informatics. This position involves substantial, long-range institutional research support. The successful candidate will establish and maintain a multidisciplinary team to advance primary and secondary uses of health information for research and improving health outcomes by developing novel methodologies in data integration, information retrieval, natural language processing, and analytics.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. and/or M.D./Ph.D. in biomedical informatics, computer science or related fields; demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining a successful independent research program; demonstrated success in collaborating with clinical and/or basic scientists; interest and ability to teach methods courses; and demonstrated competences for mentoring (e.g. graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, residents, clinical and or research staff). Preference will be given to candidates at the Associate Professor or Professor level with significant record of research accomplishment, scholarship and recognition in the field of Biomedical Informatics.
