Job Description:
The Department of Microbiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant, Full, and/or Associate Professor positions in the tenure track. Applicants must have an Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and research.
The successful applicants will have research programs focused on the interactions of microorganisms with their mammalian hosts, taking advantage of contemporary genome-wide high-throughput methods, advanced bioinformatics, and classical molecular methods. Strong consideration will be given to candidates studying host-microbiome interactions.
The positions include a competitive salary, high-quality laboratory space and start-up funding. It is expected that the candidates chosen will establish an independent, extramurally funded research program and participate in teaching students in the School of Medicine graduate programs.
Review of applications will be done on a rolling basis and continue until January 1, 2016.
