Job Description:
The Scientific Computing Core of the Flatiron Institute and the SFARI Informatics group are jointly seeking a Flatiron Research Fellow to research and develop new computational methods for the identification and analysis of structural genomic variations (CNVs, rearrangements, transposable elements). These new methods will be applied to genomics data being generated from several large, ongoing clinical cohort studies supported by SFARI. This position will work closely with other research staff and software engineers at both the Flatiron and the Foundation to optimize algorithms and software for routine operational use. This position is a two-year appointment and may be renewed for a third year. The person in this position will be encouraged to disseminate their results through scientific publication, conferences, workshops and seminars.
