Job Description:

We are looking for 40 exceptional students to join our four-year Crick PhD Programme starting in September 2015.

The Francis Crick Institute brings together six of the UK's most successful scientific and academic organisations - the Medical Research Council’s National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), Cancer Research UK’s London Research Institute (LRI), the Wellcome Trust, Imperial College London, King's College London and University College London. Crick researchers conduct groundbreaking and multi-disciplinary medical research to understand why disease develops and to find new ways to prevent and treat infection and illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, and neurodegenerative disorders.

Students, who join the 2015 Crick PhD Programme, will start their PhDs at the LRI or NIMR in September 2015, will register for their PhD at one of the Crick partner universities (Imperial College London, King's College London or University College London), and will transfer into the Crick with their research group in early 2016.

Motivated and talented graduates with backgrounds in biological or medical sciences, physics, chemistry, mathematics and/or computer science are invited to apply.

A number of projects will provide the opportunity to undertake multi-disciplinary research carried out between the Crick and a partner University.

Crick students will benefit from well-resourced research labs and state-of-the-art science technology platforms, excellent scientific and transferable skills training, and a supportive and stimulating research environment. They will register at one of the Crick partner universities (Imperial, King’s, or University College London) and receive a non-taxable annual stipend of £22,000 plus payment of tuition fees.

Application deadline: 5pm GMT Wednesday 12th Nov 2014
Interviews: 19th- 20th Jan 2015 (NIMR) and 21st-23rd Jan 2015 (LRI)
