Job Description:
The Varley Lab in the University of Utah Huntsman Cancer Institute (http://healthcare.utah.edu/huntsmancancerinstitute/research/labs/varley/) seeks a Genomics Data Analyst to provide statistical analysis and programming support for their breast cancer research.
As a Genomics Data Analyst, you will assist researchers with the analysis and interpretation of data generated from large-scale genomics experiments. Utilizing knowledge and skills in bioinformatics and biostatistics you will create new data analysis scripts, data management strategies, and data visualization tools. The Varley Lab is focused on characterizing the molecular defects that occur in breast cancer, and works to use this information to develop biomarkers and novel therapeutics that improve patient care. The lab provides an energetic, interactive and supportive environment for scientists and staff to hone their skills while working toward a great cause.
You will be encouraged to expand your knowledge of computer programming, statistical methods and cancer biology by attending seminars, webinars, short-courses and user groups. The University of Utah Huntsman Cancer Institute offers excellent benefits and is nestled in the foothills of the mountains surrounding Salt Lake City; providing terrific opportunities for world-class outdoor adventure and affordable convenient living.
