Job Description:
Global Production Research Lead Monsanto is seeking an individual to lead the Production Research team in Global Supply Chain. This team has responsibility for both Row Crops and Vegetables; key operational areas are parent testing, field research and seed treatment scale-up from Technology to commercial implementation.
The successful candidate will sit on the Global Production Technology leadership team and be accountable for working between Supply Chain, Technology and Commercial to:
• Deliver the global parent testing pipeline from Breeding hand off to Commercial production
• Lead field and greenhouse production research to deliver innovative tools to improve agronomic yield for Monsanto production
• Develop and deliver the Supply Chain seed treatment strategy commensurate with the LRP Responsibilities will include partnering with internal stakeholders to determine business requirements, coordinating research priorities with Supply Chain strategic goals, setting research direction and overseeing the development and implementation of operations for multiple projects. The role will require both direct management and significant leadership via influence.
The Production Research team is essential to generating revenue and lowering cost of operation globally as well as inspiring continuous enhancement/innovation of activities that improve predictability & reliability of high quality seed production. The candidate must have strong experience in cross-functional leadership, excellent communication skills and an ability to work in a diverse, highly-matrixed environment. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and have the ability to work without detailed oversight on significant projects.
