Job Description:
Novartis is currently recruiting for a Head of Programming and Data Science for Real World Evidence Modeling & Simulation in East Hanover, NJ.
As the Real World Evidence (RWE) Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Programming and Data Science (P&DS) Head, your primary role will be to lead the data: strategy; programming; science, and lead a group of programmers and/or data scientists.
Major Activities:
You will work with your team to exceed customer expectations, creating a world class RWE and M&S and P&DS organization. You will be a member of the RWE M&S Leadership Team where you will be able to demonstrate your passion for developing people and managing resources. You will act as a role model, coach and mentor people to help them become the best they can be. You will build and nurture relationships with key customer stakeholders through all stages of the value chain. You will define and implement data strategies, efficient workflows and processes for data management; mapping; processing; mining; pooling; integration and visualization from discovery to real-world use and after regulatory approval. You will work on project across the Franchise in collaboration with respective RWE Centers of Excellence analytics groups (Development/ Commercial) at global and local (regions, countries) levels You will lead the business model of RWE M&S P&DS; engage in the development of infrastructure solutions, business policy/papers and shape and/or assure business practice is aligned with regulatory and healthcare requirements and leading industry standards You will liaise with senior management to influence and negotiate on drug development innovation and development decisions with particular emphasis on Model-informed drug development (MiDD) EEO Statement

Minimum requirements
Position to be filled with level commensurate with experience.
MSc or Ph.D. in data science, biostatistics, bioinformatics, computational science, or a field with significant data science-related content Fluent English (oral and written). What do we look for?
Individuals who are passionate about translating Real World Evidence into information to help our patients. 10+ years experience of M&S within the health care industry with knowledge and experience of disease modeling, early cost /effectiveness modeling software. 5+ years international leadership experience. A track record of developing/establishing/leading pharmacometrics excellence into operational practice and global scientific improvement/change initiatives. Dynamic forward thinking individual who does as s/he advises others to do. Individuals who enjoy managing teams in a constructive style. Individuals who are highly skilled in consulting, communication and have a proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
