What we're looking for: A Health Informaticist who has a deep love for clinical data, and a passion to tackle one of the great medical & technological challenges of our time. As an early team-member, this role requires a sharp analytical mind, incredible drive, and a focus on getting things done! Come join us in developing creative ways to explore, organize, and leverage clinical data to predict health. Responsibilities:
- Structure and standardize clinical data to build a common language across systems / providers
- Wrangle large data sets from client health systems and identify key clinical data elements
- Make reliable, adaptive, robust machine learning engines and algorithms
- Translate data insights clearly and simply to impact patient lives
- Be a clinical data expert on our team, and provide insights to hospital workflows and tools
- Help us build a great team that will change healthcare analytics
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience curating and extracting data, analyzing clinical data, and/or integrating clinical terminologies in a healthcare IT environment
- Fluency in data science toolkits (R, Shiny, Python, Spark, SQL, etc.)
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in one of the following: Bioinformatics, Medical/Healthcare informatics, Nursing, Medical Doctorate (MD)
- In-depth knowledge of standard controlled vocabularies like LOINC, RxNorm, SNOMED-CT, NDC, and UMLS
- Knowledge of standard classifications used in medical coding and billing schemes, such as ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD-0-3, CPT, and HCPCS
- Experience in data analysis of at least one Electronic Health Record (EHR) system (e.g., Epic, MOSAIQ, Varian, Cerner)
- You’re inspired to use data science and machine learning to help people stay healthy
- You prefer to "get it done" and do what it takes to solve hard problems, rather than stick to what you know
- You want to be part of a team - giving and asking for help
- You know you have a lot to learn and aggressively seek to learn it
