Job Description:
Comprehensive gene expression/proteomic profiles of human tissues/cell types in the public domain are interesting resources for mining biological information. These independent datasets are inherently cohesive by their common goal of characterizing human physiology. They differ, and therefore complement each other, in their underlying measurements and technologies. Harmonization of these datasets will be a critical step leading to systematic data mining and algorithmic modeling.

The candidate is expected to
Systematically internalize transcriptomics and proteomics datasets.
Harmonize and integrate data at the gene level. This will include data normalization and the calculation of tissue-selective score.
Implement basic visualization of the summary statistics.
Optional: Testing proteomics quantification pipeline.
&nbsp R, Matlab, Perl, Python or any programming background.
Familiarity with databases.
Data mining experience is a plus.
