Job Description:
This D06-level position is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining information technology solutions supporting the utilization of genomic and genetic assays in translational research. The position will have a primary responsibility for supporting the Clinical Genetics & Genomics group, but will also support and partner with other organizations, such as Genetically Defined Diseases and Translational Bioinformatics.

Other key components of the role include:
Build relationships with key stakeholders responsible for clinical and preclinical genetic and genomic technologies, and maintain a current, comprehensive understanding of their business objectives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain a long-term information management strategy that meets those business objectives and anticipates future needs.
Define a portfolio of discrete projects against that strategy
Collaborate with software development teams on the implementation of informatics projects.
Perform business analysis and deliver detailed functional requirements, Provide project management leadership where necessary.
Manage the support of existing informatics systems, and serve as the Clinical Genetics & Genomics group’s primary contact for all IT-related issues. Qualifications Job Requirements:

A MS or PhD in Science, Engineering, Information Management or a related field is highly desirable.
At least 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries is required.
Detailed experience and understanding of the drug discovery and development process is required, with a particular emphasis on biomarker discovery/utilization and translational research & development.
Detailed knowledge of genetic & genomic assay platforms is required. This should include but is not limited to: low-throughput PCR-based genotyping and expression assays, microarray-based genotyping and expression assays, and NGS-based genotyping and expression assays.
Should understand all IT aspects of the utilization of this technology, including instrumentation/automation, laboratory workflow, assay data management, and data analysis/visualization.
Extensive experience with capturing and analyzing business requirements in the drug research domain is required.
Must have demonstrated experience interacting with scientists directly and building relationships across matrixed organizations.
Demonstrated experience in developing robust, maintainable software is required. Must have working experience with standard software development methodologies and lifecycles.- Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 requirements and the development of validated software systems for GLP/GCP environments is highly desirable.
A broad technical background is highly desirable, particularly hands-on Unix and Oracle experience.
