Selected post-doctoral candidates will join a dynamic oncology drug discovery and development organization to study therapeutics that treats cancer. Candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate across the oncology and immunology discovery and translational research departments at Janssen, as well as with prominent academic labs and recognized experts studying immune modulation, genetic alterations, and novel technologies in cancer.
The area of focus for this position will be the identification and characterization of prognostic, predictive and mechanistic immune activation signatures in cancer progression.

Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD in Computational Biology or Bioinformatics. Strong R and BioConductor programming skills are required. Working experience in Unix/Linux environment is required. Oncology and/or immunology experience is preferred. Experience with high dimensional data integration, gene expression analysis, next generation sequencing analysis, survival analysis and biological network inference is preferred. Statistical analysis experience with working knowledge of regression analysis, multivariate data analysis and linear/nonlinear mixed effects modeling is preferred. Scripting language experience (e.g. Perl or Python) is preferred. Other high level programming (e.g. Java, C++, etc.) and database (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) experience is preferred.
Candidates will be performing bioinformatics and statistical analysis, visualization and data interpretation of public and proprietary data for the Oncology Disease Area Stronghold. Candidates will use statistical and machine learning methods to identify prognostic and predictive biomarker signature of immune activity from high dimensional biological data. Candidates will integrate data from external (e.g. NCBI ENtrez, NCBI GEO, UCSC Genome Browser, TCGA/caBIG, GeneGO, Ingenuity) and internal sources in analyses. Candidates will work independently as part of a matrix organization. Candidates will communicate Bioinformatics results to computational biologists, bench scientists, clinicians and management in an appropriate biological context. Candidates must have an excellent publication record and strong written and verbal communication skills.
