Job Description:
Position Overview: Lead an innovative genetics and genomics laboratory within Biomarker Development (BMD) at NIBR’s Cambridge, MA research campus. Leverage sequencing technologies applied to clinical samples to drive understanding of disease biology and drug response at scales ranging from targeted panels to whole genome/transcriptome sequencing. Collaborate with internal and external groups to promote novel approaches to biomarker discovery and development.
Primary Responsibilities: Implement and oversee NGS-based workflows and assays to deliver informative and impactful results. Provide vision and interact collaboratively with colleagues across the organization for the continued development and application of NGS technologies. Interface with BMD's integrated marker analysis group to deliver data supporting clinical decision-making and to obtain data-centric feedback to optimize sequencing efforts. Develop and implement biomarker strategies at the study and program levels within one or more general medicine disease areas and participate in cross-functional teams leading early-stage clinical trials.

Minimum requirements
Qualifications & Experience: Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant biological field. Minimum of 10 years experience in molecular biology/genomics with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on technical experience in next generation sequencing, including NGS methods development. Strong leadership acumen and experience in mentoring and managing PhD-level scientists. Highly effective communication and presentation skills and a proven track record of scientific publications. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, clinical reporting, data storage, and/or bioinformatics is desirable.
