Job Description:
The Graduate Programs in Analytics & Data Science in the Graduate School at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) invites applications for a full­time, Lecturer position(rank open) for the 2017-­2018 academic year. The position will be for one year with the possibility of renewal.The successful candidate will be expected to teach five sections of courses in the Graduate Programs in Analytics. In addition, responsibilities will include acting as the Coordinator for the Online Graduate Certificate in Data Science Program. The successful candidate will also participate in consulting work through the Data Lab, the The University’s corporate consulting service. They further will help to develop new programs, serve on program and university committees, advise students, and will develop linkages with professional associations. Scholarship is encouraged, although not required for promotion for this position.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must possess either a related Master’s degree coupled with relevant experience, or an earned doctorate, or progress there towards, in an area related to Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, Bioinformatics, Econometrics, physics or other data related field. Candidates with evidence of successful teaching experience are highly valued. This position will be covered by the AAUP collective bargaining unit for Lecturers.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

The candidate should have experience with but not limited to many or all of the following:

• Programming (e.g., Python, SAS, R, Lydia, SQL, Docker, JavaScript)

• Statistical methods for data analytics

• Predictive modeling

• Big data cleaning and integration

• Database management

• Machine learning

• Cloud computing

• Text ­mining

• Data Visualization
