The Role

Indeed, if you take on this two-year contract you will inspire a diverse group of students as you teach academic skills on a range of courses in our Science, Engineering & Computing Faculty. A highly varied role, it involves assessing students’ work, providing feedback and assisting with the administration, development and management of the modules. An excellent opportunity to engage with pedagogic research, you will also help students achieve their academic potential through the acquisition of effective academic skills.

The Person

You will need a degree in a Technical or Scientific discipline, a teaching qualification and teaching experience gained in Further or Higher Education. You will also need a passion for engaging with, and enabling students to develop the skills and attributes it takes to succeed in modern academic and professional environments. A real desire to develop and actively disseminate innovative practice, both within the University and to the wider Higher Education sector, is important too. You should also be keen to contribute to the teaching and development of a range of Foundation and degree level courses using innovative and stimulating techniques.

Bringing together teaching and research expertise in science, engineering, computing and mathematics, we provide unique interdisciplinary opportunities. We offer career-focussed courses taught in modern facilities, in everything from automotive engineering to biotechnology, and from maths and games technology to pharmacy.
