Job Description:
We are looking for data scientists who have a passion for massive data analysis and exploration. As an Oracle Marketing Cloud Data Scientist you will have access to petabytes of anonymous user data, and you will be responsible for working closely with senior engineers, architects and product managers to develop real world solutions to complex problems and bring those solutions to production. Some common tasks will include data exploration, hypothesis creation from business and product goals, testing algorithms, scaling to support large datasets and validating results. Typical projects include analyzing user behavior to identify patterns and developing recommendation and classification systems. Responsibilities:
Work closely with senior engineers, architects and product management teams to design and implement machine learning and statistical analysis systems.
Conduct exploratory analysis to understand user behavior and identify key insights and trends.
Gain a thorough understanding of the business problem and explore the appropriate machine learning methods for addressing it.
Design systems to support model building and user scoring at massive scale.
Communicate technical details and abstract concepts effectively to a technical or non-technical audience.
Minimum Qualifications
MS or higher in the field of Statistics or Computer Science
At least 8 years of work experience related to complex data problems where insight is derived using logical and statistical techniques from significant amounts of data.
Great coding skills covering some procedural as well as statistical or data oriented languages. Strong coding experience in Java, C++, Scala, or Python is required.
Familiarity with statistical and machine learning techniques including: classification, regression, dimension reduction, clustering and various multivariate methods.
Thorough understanding of the complexity orders of algorithms (Big O notation)
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
