We are looking for an ML Engineer in Viome’s NYC Office to contribute to a world-class system that uses a variety of statistical machine learning models using supervised and unsupervised techniques. Responsibilities: Your responsibilities include iteratively designing, implementing, and validating a machine learning system that:
- Uses data from microbial & metabolic profiles for tasks such as clustering, prediction, and hypothesis testing
- Develop data curation pipelines that perform tasks including ingest, clean, transform, consolidate, resolve entities, link, enrich, etc
- Utilizes the latest advances in machine learning and deep learning to quickly improve the above models
- Work closely with and incorporate results from a team that is building a knowledge representation and reasoning using NLP and KRR
- A Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Machine Learning. A Master’s or a PhD, and additional relevant experience are a plus
- Requires a deep understanding of the full range of ML techniques including CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, GANs, word embedding, etc., and the ability to absorb the latest advances in this field
- Expertise in bioinformatics applications will be a major plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where you can dive in and deliver results quickly
- Demonstrated experience with building and deploying concrete ML applications
- Requires top-notch programming experience using libraries (TensorFlow/Torch/etc), ML automation tools (e.g., DataRobot), unsupervised techniques (e.g., TDA/Ayasdi), and others
- Comfortable building commercial system using cloud data stores and massive data sets
