Good Start Genetics, Inc. is seeking a full-time Board-certified Molecular and Cytogenetic Laboratory Director to join a clinical laboratory team that is motivated by the patient on the other end of every sample tested.
We seek a highly motivated individual who can utilize their superior clinical and technical skills to work in the laboratory director team at Good Start Genetics. We are looking for energetic individuals who demonstrate effort and initiative; team players who are willing to accept personal accountability for successful job performance and who have a willingness to learn new skills, as well as continually improve their existing skill set.
Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Director performs a variety of functions as a part of the Clinical Operations Team.
Review and sign out technical assay patient results with the highest possible accuracy and quality
Work collaboratively with the other Laboratory Directors and Laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate result reporting
Work with the Laboratory Management team to ensure the Quality activities of the laboratory are maintained
Support internal and external company initiatives
Provide clinical and technical expertise in support of new initiatives relevant to clinical cytogenetic and molecular testing
Seek and support new and innovative ways to provide best in class service to GSG’s clients
Requirements:
M.D. or Ph.D. in a biological science
ABMG or equivalent certification in Clinical Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics (Board-eligible may apply)
New York State Certificate of Qualification in Genetic Testing & Cytogenetics or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of experience working as a Clinical Laboratory Director
Previous experience working with Next Generation Sequencing Platforms and bioinformatics
Previous experience working with prenatal, infertility, or carrier testing
High attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Superior oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Experience presenting at scientific meetings and writing abstracts.
