About Us:
Phoenix Bioinformatics is passionate about supporting global scientific research as a way to solve the most critical problems facing humanity, including food security, health and climate change. We founded the company in 2013 in response to a need for business models capable of sustaining scientific databases developed under federal grant funding. These databases underpin the work of academic researchers in every data-intensive research field worldwide and play an increasingly essential role as the size and complexity of research datasets grows. Our current projects include support of TAIR, our premier plant biology database used by 60,000 researchers globally per month, and a new partnership with BioCyc to develop a new funding stream to support their work on microbial genomes. Phoenix Bioinformatics combines a startup’s culture of experimentation and innovation, a nonprofit’s passion for making a difference in the world, and the stable revenue and excellent employee benefits of a more mature company. We are a small organization (currently 8 employees) with big plans and a compelling mission. Come join us!
