Post-doc Associate on modeling and analysis of 3D genome structuresUniversity of Southern CaliforniaMolecular and Computational Biology90089-CA-Los Angeles A postdoctoral position is available at University of Southern California. The research focus is to develop computational methods to determine/characterize the 3D genomes of human and other eukaryotes, followed by functional and epigenomic analysis. The candidate will be jointly supervised by Professors Frank Alber and Jasmine Zhou. Research will be conducted in close collaboration with experimentalists. For our previous related work, please refer to our recent papers:

Hi-Corrector: A fast, scalable and memory-efficient package for normalizing large-scale Hi-C data.
Bioinformatics, Dec 2015  The qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in computational biology, computer science, biophysics, physical chemistry or related fields, with excellent programing skills. Previous experience in biology is preferred but not essential.

The USC computational biology division is highly interactive including 9 faculty members with research interest in computational sequence analysis, data integration, epigenomics, evolution, and structural biology. There are extensive collaborations between computational and experimental biologists. We are also an NIH Center for Excellence in Genomic Sciences.
